I choose this piece because I liked the neat and simplistic look of it. I wanted to represent the my wiki article with a clean and open feel.  At first when I read the article I wanted to approach it as the playboy magazine type of thing with crazy photos and what not but, when digging for research I came to look more into the whole concept and how it affects ther culture and religion and how Society views it. In this publication I want to try and  show The women's perspective on this. 

I did not want to make complicated illustrations so I stuck to using outlines but was advised to not just use lines but to incorporate colour also inside. I wanted to portray the women as performers and did not want to portray them in a sexual way because their practice is not to for a long time was to appease the Lower gods Of Taiwan. The women respect their practice and although not many people may agree with what they do, the ones that do confirm that there is nothing sexual about the practice.
